An aftermarket black box would be way too hard to incorperate into all the computers that run a car nowadays. Each car has like 10 different computers doing stuff.
Speaking of suits. Imagine you are in an accident that wasn't your fault but your black box shows you were exceeding the speedlimit. This would instantly make you liable for damages and injuries.
