I've already posted but would like to add this. PBS ran a wonderful special on Arlington National Cemetary the other night. Hope many saw it. It even makes you prouder of what these soldiers/sailors/marines and air force types did for all of us. I am not forgetting the merchant navy either. A wonderful peaceful place. On another note my father-in-law was a RAF Lancaster pilot at age 19. He was too young to have a drivers license so had to use his bike to get around. Old enough to command a Lanc but too young to drive. Interesting! Sadly he was lost over France in 1944 about 8 months before my wife was born.
Up here in Canada November 11 is our memorial day of sorts. Our only day to remember the veterans. I was very proud to see the thousands of people of all ages attending the services at the cenotaph.
