Back to front might be easier to explain..The windlace starts at the bottom rear of the cab at the door opening, goes up the cab, around the top of the door opening, down the front pillar, around the dash and then down to the bottom of the front of the door opening. On my 46, there is a strip that holds the kick plate and the windlace in place.
The windlace kind of snakes past the dash on my 46...
