I have a HeliCoil kit for 10-32 on the way.
For now, I'm just going to watch for a leak. I've been driving it for about a week with no leakage noticed.
Yesterday we had a "clean up day" in our little 24 lot country subdivision. I was on a crew that trimmed trees along side the only road and my truck was used to haul the trimmings to a burn pile. The driving included some fairly steep offroad downhill, uphill, lean to the left and lean to the right through ditches. I left the engine running and saw no evidence of leakage.
If I notice a leak the first step will be to remove the screws, measure the depth of the hole and see if there is any room to run longer screws. Also may run a bottoming tap into the hole if it feels like there is room for improving the depth, then get longer screws if they will tighten without bottoming. If that fails, I'll run the HeliCoils.
Jerry: I'm afraid my YF would refuse to work with metric screws installed.
