If you’re using the Harbor Freight 1 ton engine hoist to remove your engine, the wooden cart design on this website will need modification! My friend and I had to do…a sketchy maneuver to put my GMC 248 into my rolling engine cradle this past weekend. The cart is too wide to fit between the legs of the Harbor Freight engine hoist and the little nubs of 4x4 that stick out past the uprights will have to be modified.
Addendum: If you have the money for the 2 ton engine hoist at HFT, I recommend you buy one of those as the 1 ton hoist has too short of an arm for a standard truck bed. Myself and ‘49nut’ had to get creative loading my engine into the back of my Maverick.
