T.M. - There are multiple flywheels over the years, even for the 6 volt ones. Here's an old on topic thread on different flywheels that can give some ideas on what yours is and how it may relate to your '57 235 and timing.

It might be best to post a thread in the Engine Shop to chase this rabbit and figure out what you have and what your timing setting needs to be.

Just remember that the timing setting for your '57 235 needs to match the original '57 specs and not the ones for the '48 model year. Same for spark plugs etc. etc. wink

On the topic of your off-shore replica Rochester B, from the majority of posts and customer comments I've read about them, those are even worse than really bad original Rochester B's, right out of the box. Just my $.02 worth, but at a minimum I'd suggest findings an original correct Rochester B and rebuild it, or even better yet, find a Carter YF2100S and rebuild it to replace that paper weight you currently have. You will be immensely happier with your performance.
