Nick, looks like you've got the rust out of the pits on the faceplate pretty well. I have used JB Weld as filler to smooth out a weld joint, but it's a little hard to sand. I've also used spot putty for small pits. It's a lacquer based product so you can smooth it on, sand and repeat. That'll be a good evening project to fill those pits. Just be sure to use your mantra while working on them. OMMM OMMM. wink
