Perhaps I will take my existing cable to the local FLAPS and see if they have something that replace it.
The reason I am considering taking the speedometer apart is to clean out flakes of rust and stuff that have collected behind the glass. It won't look new, but it wouldn't look as bad as it does now. Part of me says I should leave it 'till the truck is operable, but another part says, it is on the workbench now, take care of it now! (Then again, there is another part of me that says you have not broken it yet, why risk it?)
