55 years ago I worked as one summer as a commercial welder on a Govt project going to Vietnam and had a TIG machine to use. It was before those machines got more sophisticated and all but I liked it. I learned on oxy-acetylene and am most comfortable with that. Working as a welder in Dallas in the summer will turn a young buck into an old man at a breakneck pace.

I took a look at the tab on mine. I didn't braze it but I welded it and I think I used a coat hanger. In my opinion that's one of the best things about gas welding...the wide flexibility.
