Thanks for that link. I may end up doing that. Shifter is pretty close to my leg for 1-2. Not horrible, but close. Had to kind of split the difference so 5th wasn't way out there. Raising the pivot should help with that too.
On another note, did your tab bend back without breaking? Mine didn't. Started to split as I was bending it back, so I stopped, clamped everything tight with vise grips, and welded the split seam. If I take it apart again and it breaks, may just have to weld the case itself.
