The spindle offered by Chev's of the 40's are not original replacement items so won't fix your bunged up spindle. A quick search of a 1929-54 Chevy Master Parts Book shows the '41-'42 Commercial and '46-'50 1/2 ton models all used the same GM# 607306 Steering knuckle spindle for both sides of the trucks. All identified with Casting# 3664551 on the spindle.

Your best bet is to locate a used serviceable spindle from one of these mentioned models/years to serve as your replacement. If you can't find anything local, feel free to post an ad in our Swap Meet Truck Parts Wanted forum and see if fellow Bolters may be able to assist in locating or even supplying one.
