Just an FYI- - - -I have a 1948 production 216 that has the same ID number that's on the machined pad behind the distributor stamped into the gasket surface for the pushrod cover, at the front of the block. I don't think I've seen that on other stovebolts. That one also has "48" cast inside a circle similar to the one in a photo above. No idea where that block came from, it was acquired in one of my horsetrades!
