My 6V regulator was a fraction of the size of this one, but yes, it is just a small rectangular unit mounted on the generator. Not sure what application this 12V regulator was originally for. I bought it from the shop that rebuilt the generator. It already had a curved base, so I didn't even need to bend the flanges to mount it.
