You might consider doing a boat motor style winterization. Get it up to running temp, change the oil (the old stuff may be slightly acidic), fog all the cylinders with fogging oil, then plug the exhaust and intake. Also fill the gas tank to the very top and add some Stabil Storage treatment. Some moth balls are supposed to keep rodents away from (haven’t tried that myself).
