I would make an offer to the shop manager and he would pass it on to the attorney. The shop just didn't mind storing it for him. Turns out 3 of us were doing the same thing and after 3-4 offers over 2 years, I asked on the right day and it was accepted.
I don't know who the 3rd guy was, but I found out after the fact that I knew the second guy (who managed a different shop) I ran across him at an all GM show that I didn't take the truck to. Hadn't seem him in 5 years or so. Good to see him again. He had a really, really nice 72 there.
He had also found a different 58 near his house and had already flipped it, so I didn't feel bad about beating him out on this one.
