A 2 groove balancer for a Chevy 230/250 inline six can be modified easily to fit a stovebolt engine by shortening the length of the snout about 1/4" and machining the outside diameter of the snout back the same distance to keep from damaging the timing cover seal. The inside diameter of both balancers is the same (1 1/4") and the balancer can either be press fitted onto the crankshaft snout like the original, or the crank can be drilled and tapped for a 7/16-20 thread bolt if you choose.
