Some time ago there was a lively discussion on the inliners board on this topic regarding the effectiveness of using a modified balancer designed for the 292 on the earlier engines. I'm gonna side with Denny on this one in that the potential for increased crankshaft stress is a possibility unless proven otherwise. Is this negligible? Possibly.
