I myself never use fender covers, not even at work. It's too easy to leave a tool on or get something under it and when you let your guard down the fender gets damaged. Without fender covers I'm always careful, no matter what service I'm doing. Just make sure your not wearing a belt buckle that can cause damage or, if you're like me, you can hide it under your gut,
