Sears is Sears, and does not have the lifetime guarantee. Only if stamped or marked Craftsman can you get a hand tool replaced free for life.
Any power tool, whether Craftsman or Sears, has only the 3-month return or replace guarantee. The Sears tools are cheaper & less well made. You pay a little more for the Craftsman name, but it's well woth it over the long run. As technology improves, so does your "investment". I bought a 22 oz framing hammer in 1964 as a tradeschool freshman; wooden handle, lousy balance, etc. 42 years later, on my 3rd replacement, it's a fiberglass handle, balanced beauty w/ knurled face to hit the nail and set it too. I know there are way better tools out there, but for the $ and the guarantee, I stick w/ Craftsman.
