It sounds like the clutch disc isn't lined up with the pilot bushing. Loosen the pressure plate bolts and use a line up shaft for the clutch. They are available at the cheap parts houses. After lining it up and tightening the bolts back, slide it in the truck and if it still won't go in, turn the crank a few inches with the trans. in gear while pushing on the motor.
