Ron , a good clutch alignment tool is a spare g/box input shaft.
I have always found it easier to fit the g/box to the eng , rather than the other way around . I figure the g/box is lighter and easier to move around and get lined up.
I try and fit the two together first , then put the complete assy in the truck .
Sure helps if you have the whole front clip off , makes for real easy acess.
