Just curious. Lot’s of different types of steel. Are they specifying what type? A36 and 1018 for instance are low carbon mild steels. A36 is usually hot rolled and 1018 is cold rolled.

I would think they will be using an alloy such as 4140-4142 or better. The alloy steels are much stronger.

I’m just wondering if you’ll be getting equivalent or better than the original you bought many years ago.
