If you choose that method (about #13 on a choice of 1 to 10) be sure to drop the inspection cover off the bell housing and drive a hardwood wedge tightly between the pressure plate and the back of the bell housing. That will prevent damage to the front of the #3 main bearing thrust face while you're hammering. If the balancer is loose enough to be noisy, the crankshaft snout will also be worn and a new balancer will loosen up quickly. You really need to drill and tap the crank snout for a center bolt to keep the new balancer tight and use green LocTite stud & bearing mount on the assembly when you install it.
