Gasoline powered air compressors are available too, like from Northern Tool, if 230V is out of the question for your shop. If you have an old V motor hanging around it is pretty easy to convert one into a big compressor, just use one cylinder bank to run the motor and convert the valves and manifolds on the other side for air. All the CFM you will ever need.
