That sounds like what I envisioned. I think you will make it work. Synchronizing multiple carbs was a chore on my 69 Honda 750 due to the use of four cables instead of mechanical linkage. Cables tended to stretch at different rates. The next upgrade had mechanical linkage that solved the problem.
