That's why I try to buy older, second hand American tools whenever I can. It takes time and I always have to be on the look-out for good stuff, but sometimes when I need a tool right away, I don't have a choice but to run in to a place like you mentioned to get it. I always think to myself or tell my wife that I bought a tool (or whatever it might be) made/built/assembled by a 14 year old "slave" in Indochina, Tawain, Mexico, etc. I try to buy U.S. whenever I can.
