May be help, may not, but I just posted the shifting instructions that were on the visor of my old rig on the "split shifting" thread.
It does sound like what was going on with my truck though, it was stuck in low and had a blazing top speed of 38! Was just sticky, once I changed the lbe out & started using it it loosened up and shifts fine. just need to practice so I'm not grinding it so much!

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
