The factory setup has an extended draft tube that puts the PCV at least 6 inches above the top of the road draft tube. That's to minimize the tendency to pull liquid oil out of the crankcase, instead of just vapors. There's one really stupid design out there that involves putting a freeze plug into the road draft hole with a rubber grommet in it for the PCV. That's a guaranteed oil burner situation.
