I would go with that the numbers say and not the color. I have a blue motor in my 55 truck. I figure the PO just painted it that color.
I think that the 0611762 number is the sequence number, so subtracted 1000 from that number 610762 tells you what number that truck was at that production plant.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
