Not sure if this pic will help as you are earlier than my 46 1/2 ton Your ‘L’ bracket looks bent well past 90 degrees and the cast body looks worn from contact with it….
I have this pic is in my file as I had drilled and tapped the ‘L’ bracket so I could adjust & limit the turning radius, truck came to me w/fatter tires on the original rims which could rub steering linkage,…….now running Diamondback 650 16’s… Chuck
