The switch is the same as my 54 and I do believe same as a corvette .mine also has the hose clamp as there is a few videos I found and the screw underneath is for holding most likely striped and there are some parts available to get it working again .I haven’t looked closely at mine yet as I thought the switch did not cancel but if working correct the switch does cancel
