on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | Well my first thought is give me the 302 I'd love to have one...
The old GMC motors are not cheap to work on, but I'd be surprised if parts for the old International are any more available. Didn't International stop making light trucks in the 70's? The joke was they got them perfect and didn't need to make any more.
All I know about those motors is that a friend tried to put one in an old Scout and could not make it fit.
The last job I had before I left Idaho for good was driving a tandem axle binder that had an International 394 with a 5 and 4. That was 25 years ago and I don't recall much about that truck or its motor any more.
In those years there was a jeep pickup running around with a Pontiac 347 under the hood and Internal 1-ton four-wheel-drive.
At the time I owned a '51 GMC that was sitting on military ambulance type running gear with 5-hole budd wheels. That truck made it to Portland with all my stuff loaded in the bed.
I'm not much help am I...
