Yes, I've used some of those $20 small engine carbs. They work fine for mowers.
The Carb I bought was also $200. I should have spent the $300 to have it rebuilt. It was before I got the AD truck so I wasn't aware of the Chinese carb problems or Jon H's Carburetor Shop and kits, etc.
Anyway, among other things, the float filled with gasoline in less than a year.
I'm sure Jon will be along sooner or later to tell us his experiences with the knockoff carbs. As he's mentioned before, none of them are good.
