Hy guys, History, my reference material says Maple Leaf production started in 1930 and ended in 1950. Up until 1939 Maple Leafs used Chevrolet engines, after 1938 Maple Leafs were powered by the new full precision bearinged G.M.C. engine. The easiest way for me to describe the Maple Leaf after 1938 is to say it is a 2, 2 1/2, 3 ton G.M.C. with a Chevrolet front sheet metal installed, hope that clarifies. Now differences between models, heavier springs, heavier frames, larger brakes, as jarge has stated Maple Leafs started at 2 ton and went up to 3 ton. All the different sizes had their own wheelbase choices, I believe the model numbers were 16 and 17, hope that helps.
