Btw , I am working on a’54 3100.
I did say carpet, but the area rug sort of thing I am eyeballing in the local building supply store is really just a rubber mat with a thin fabric on the upside, it’s the kind of thing you’d put in the back entry hall or mud room.
They are available in 5’ x 3’ , a good size for cutting into a one piece floor covering for the 3100. Approx $22 .
