I have found that I need a reverse steering gear. Has anyone else found reverse steering gears that would work? I have seen lots of part numbers and from what the supplier sites say they are reverse, but then some other place says the same part number is standard rotation. I want to keep my box in the same location so I want to go with a reverse box. I have seen trucks with the same part number used in 1 tons and 2 tons. So I am thinking that a 1 ton gear from a modern truck would be fine for replacing a '56 manual gear. Some of the models I have looked at are the 2002 Kodiak truck, 2002 1 ton Chevy Express van. Many trucks and have also looked at reversing the gear box from a guy who describes it on the HAMB. I want to stay away from mounting it outside the frame or in front of the axle. | | |
