The needle is friction fit
There are special tools to pull it straight up
I usually use two screwdrivers to pry it straight up
Protect surfaces with tapes
If the shaft snaps off then you will need to fix that too
I usually crimp the new needle onto its counter mass and press them on together as it’s very difficult to bend the tabs on the needle metal cup after the counter mass is pressed onto the needle shaft.

I use my fingers to press new needles into place
No hammering
