The glued joint on the ends of the door weatherstrip goes on the bottom and the screwed on retainer helps keep that from pulling apart and you having weatherstrip flapping in the breeze going down the road. Yeah, everything in the FAM is from '54 models. Like the grille parts. For earlier grilles, we're on our own as far as assembly.
