I got around to working on the firetruck but it leaked at the water pump again. I removed the adapter plate, 216 water pump and shroud. I reinstalled the short shaft water pump as I want this thing running this week as I want to make sure the engine is operating properly. I'll go back to the adapter plate once I'm sure the truck is running good and I don't have "other issues" lerking in the background. Very frustrating but I'm still learning about the rig. Again thanks to all of you for your support, advice and assistance.
