How did you identify this Rochester as a 235 carb? It’s very difficult to do without a brass tag, which is most often missing.
I’d guess that you either:
1) Have a 216 carb with the smaller throttle body
2) If you have somehow verified the bowl is from a 235…it’s a “mutt” that’s been assembled from various non-matching pieces over the years. Super common with many carbs, but the B in general.
IMO, your best option would be locating a carb that was designed for a very similar cubic inch engine. The B that was designed for that application is quite hard to find. Some have used the Zenith from a GMC 270. The option Jerry mentions is a viable one.
2nd best option would be a 235-designed carb (preferably not a B) that is complete and not a mismatch of parts. Several folks here have reported making a 261 run pretty well with a 235 carb. The Carter YF is the most commonly recommended here, and it’s what I’ve chosen to use on my 235.
