Swapping a main carburetor body with a different throttle base is like playing Russian roulette with 5 chambers of the revolver loaded, but go ahead if you're feeling lucky. For accurate information on carburetors in general, and Carter in particular, it would be a good idea to contact Carb King at his place of business, "The Carburetor Shop". He's far too busy to accept private messages on Stovebolt, however.
