| | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,223 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,223 | John, I've heard that before, but never gave it much thought as the math doesn't work out...your 3800 (1-ton) has a front axle rating of 3500 pounds (1-3/4 ton) and my 1/2 ton has a 3000 pound axle. I' believe it's a carryover from the old days when the rating was what the truck could carry in the bed. Mike B  | | | |
