I could have sworn that the rivets I got from the Filling Station were solid. But I just looked at mine, and they're semi-tubular type. When properly set, should have a rolled edge without the splits. Here's a picture of mine - a little better, but not perfect, either. The original solid rivets just had chisel notches in an X pattern to expand them. A much more solid connection. I'd almost be tempted to tack weld them for a little extra security. The flattened edges are prone to cracking off. But they'll probably last another 70 years.
