I shortened about 4’, as much as I could with the existing running gear and crossmembers. Just right for the crane bed I had on another truck. Made a stepped welded joint, long bolted doubler. Worked out well that length. Easy one man job, although the mag drill would have been easier with 2.

Besides it was awkward getting and out my driveway.
