Well I used both ideas thanks to both people for the help. I first did the putty on the big areas and then I put several coats of epoxy primer on it and saw that I should do a little more sanding and so i did that cleaned and painted it here are the results keep in mind its going to be a hot rod for my daughter.The color was all her Idea.
