I ask because I have done several (6?) of these swaps into various vehicles so far and ended up happier with the GM controls than any of the aftermarket systems.
To get that, the tune had to be specific to *that* vehicle setup. If you are buying an off the shelf tune vs using the self-learning system on the aftermarket controls, I could see the difference swinging the other way.
We use EFI Live for our tuning. My long-term test bed is my daily driver with about 20k miles on the swap. It is an 84 f**d, but I get a solid 20mpg on the highway and 16mog in town. I couldn't be happier with the swap. | | |
