It has been quite some time since I have added any comment to this thread, i encountered a lot of problems with the truck. Over a eight month period I had the truck in three shops that claimed to be knowledgeable with the 5.7/4L60 transmission combo I have in the truck. Each tried to solve the problem by simply R&Ring parts.
It finally turned out that someone had captured a blue wire under the distribitor cap, when the cap's screws were tightened the wire was badly damaged. Then someone fried the ECM.. I finally found a shop that knew what they were doing. I will refrain from belaboring the expense and time spent to correct poor workmanship.
For over six months I have been trying to find a quality paint body shop that will repaint the truck. I don't want a two stage show quality paint job, the truck is intended to be my everyday driver with single stage yellow paint.
Most of the shops I have talked to want to dis-assemble, sand blast the body, then paint and re-assemble the body...
I think I have finally found a shop that will paint the truck, without dis-assemble, removing only the windshield, back window and bed. The bed should be removed and dis-assembled to install the new wood on the floor. Wm.
