I finally had some time to test a couple carburetors on my air flow bench. I used a Superflow 110. The adaptor I have use has a 4" bore, 6" tall, and is what I use when flow testing heads. For this test I made up a fixture to hold the carburetors in the center of the bore.

I drilled the wood so the hole was slightly bigger then the Carter W-1 base gasket that comes in the rebuild kits. The W-1 is 483.

Just the hole in the wood flowed 245 cfm @ 10".

The W-1 flowed 189 cfm @ 10". ( wide open throttle, choke wide open as well )

I then opened the hole up to fit a Rochester Monojet from 1970.

The Monojet flowed 215 cfm @ 10".

The bigger hole will flow 269 cfm.

I reinstalled the W-1 and got the same 189 cfm.

It's not a 100% accurate test, but it gives you some idea what is going on.
