Nice pictures. The big truck guys on this site should be quite helpful. I have light trucks - both of them lived in VA years ago.
If you do not have them yet, I suggest you get hold of a 1953 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual (48-53, most likely) and a Factory Assembly Manual (1947.5-1955.5; actually it is for 54/55 but you might find the diagrams very helpful).
