Parts don't care where they come from, or what vehicle they're installed into. Vehicle owners, on the other hand, can be pretty prejudiced. If I could find one with 6 lug axles, I'd choose a Ford 9 inch rear end over anything GM has ever made. It's what virtually every NASCAR racer is running, and there are hundreds of options available about ring and pinion ratios, limited slip center sections, disc brakes, custom axles, and other stuff. Strange Axles can probably make a set of 6-lug axles for a 9" rear end that would let you bolt the original wheels on with no problems.
